Estelle Cohen discusses women and medicine

Estelle Cohen will be discussing her recent work on women and medicine, 1700-1850.
Estelle intends to summarize some of the problems we encounter in recovering the history of women and medicine, and some of the interesting stories she has to tell about the women she has studied. Estelle hopes the audience will raise plenty of questions to aid discussion about the multiplicity of medical ideas and practices respecting women's health. The speaker is particularly interested in issues relating to reproduction and the state.
